Data Visualisation Handbook
A downloadable game for Windows
This is a student project created for Interactive Media. The assignment brief gave me freedom in creating pretty much whatever I felt like as long as it involved some form of 'interactive media'. I decided to create a handbook that incorporates various data visualisation techniques.
This project was inspired by children's books/interactive websites with the idea being that it would be easy to understand and intuitive to play with while still incorporating the 'interactive' aspects.
This project was created in Processing using Java. Any images used were found on Google Images and were free to use.
What's in the book?
Beats Book! | A custom music visualiser with multiple options of soundtracks and audio control! |
Camera Visualisation! | Takes in live camera feed and allows the user to select from a range of filters! |
Image Manipulation! | Using a Random Walker Algorithm, there are 6 images to select from where you get to watch them being drawn using 'walkers' |
Drawing! | Take creativity in your own hands and have the ability to draw what you want using a palate of colours and a drawing board! |
Optical Illusions! | Have fun reading through and looking at different optical illusions to trick your mind! |
Live Data Feed! | Takes in data from a UTS Building and procedurally generates dots to mimic the buildings design - each dot represents a person who came into a specific room at UTS on that given day! |
