Bug Join!

Instructions:

Using your mouse, left-click to select and highlight 3+ matching pieces to join the bugs! The more bugs you join together, the higher the score multiplier! There are two game modes, Regular and Endless. Regular is level based, you progress by completing the level requirement. Endless is an endless experience where you customise the level and can choose yourself how long you want to play for!

Hey Guys!

Welcome back; I have been working on this game for the last month and a bit - I didn't want to post any updates until I had something solid to upload - which is now! As a side note, there are still a few things I plan to add in, and there might be some balancing things that will need to be implemented still. 

For your convenience, I have listed below most of the new features in the game!

    • UNDO - You can finally undo just by deselecting the last selected bug and following that order

I got 630,600 on the default mode before I decided to self-sabotage. I was surprised to see there was no "Game Over". Maybe add a stalemate detection thing?

Yess! I definitely need to add that. Once I have the levelling system in with different end-game possibilities and conditions then it will make more sense but for the endless mode I definitely need a stalemate detection.

I love this game!! it's like match-3 remix with checkers vibe. imho you could really run with this. lol pls don't gum this up with microtransactions or something, this is too pure.

unless it's buying an undo function*, or different skins (carapaces?) for the bugs.

if it's not already in queue, I'd go hard for some decent snappy music. check a thesaurus for your game title? 'join' will not move mountains, i think. i wanna picture some cute bugs joining appendages and frolicking around in a circle. chain, maybe? idk. catchier. and if you haven't already, it's worth it to run this through accessibility checks. I personally think your beetle has enough contrast, you did a great job on those designs, but i'm not colorblind and don't have multiple screens to test. *it's easy to make a mistake on the diagonals, which I do like, for the concentration, but remember there are tons more people in the world with shaky hands

Hey! Thank you for the kind comments. Yeah I actually agree with the name; had some time thinking last night about it haha, will definitely look into changing that up before a proper release. 

Thank you for the feedback as well! Will definitely look into better UI/UX feedback to make it easier/more forgiving for colour sensitive players. I do also plan on updating the game so that undoing will be possible haha that was definitely a large point of feedback when I was playing it myself that I wanted but didn't have time to immediately implement.
